The air-assisted TWIN FORCE boom employs the world’s best system for spray control. Using an adjustable air curtain to entrain and direct the spray, TWIN FORCE can reduce drift by an astounding 80%. The result is close to no loss of plant protection products or contamination of adjacent areas.
TWIN FORCE features:
Norika is one of the largest potato cultivator in Germany, with over 3200 hectares of total cultivation area and approximately 1500 hectares used for potato farming in Kröpelin, Germany.
Located near the Baltic sea, the Kröpelin region frequently faces windy conditions. For many years, Norika has used the HARDI TWIN FORCE to ensure the best performance to overcome the challenges.
“It’s always windy here because of the proximity to the sea, which isn’t easy when spraying. But of course, that’s why we had the HARDI TWIN FORCE in operation before and have bought a new one now.” says Wolfgang, Division Manager at Norika.

By adjusting the air curtain’s speed and angle, from no air to full air, in effect producing two sprayers in one (hence the name – TWIN), the operator can guide all droplets, irrespective of size, to the target.
Two powerful blower units provide air to the left and right boom sides. Each blower can be adjusted without steps to a maximum output of 2,000 m³/h per metre of boom and a maximum air speed of 35 m/sec.

The windy weather can cause delays or cancel the spray job due to risk of high drift. But the Air-assisted HARDI TWIN, gives you more spraying days with guaranteed spray precision and drift control.
The Danish Environmental Protection Agency, Miljøstyrelsen has approved the HARDI TWIN system and NANODRIFT nozzles as a 90% drift-reducing solution. This combination helps farmers minimise drift, get better crop deposition and minimise the environmental impacts.

Similarly, an independent scientific study from the Research Centre Flakkebjerg/Aarhus University, Denmark, demonstrated that the spray application quality of a HARDI TWIN sprayer with a 24 m boom was unaffected by high wind at driving speeds of 8 to 12 km/h.
