Purchasing Officer

The Role:

​Your primary role will be to provide support for the placement of orders and system updated for materials, supplies and equipment, and follow through on pricing and delivery with vendors.

As a member of our Planning & Inventory team, you will oversee activities such as:

  • placing purchase orders with suppliers
  • follow up and obtain order confirmations
  • update shipment details in Dynamics AX & Smartsheet
  • manage stock discrepancies
  • expedite shipments via freight forwarders and inwards teams as required
  • freight quotations
  • consolidate documents

This role requires a hands-on approach and the Purchasing Officer must have:

  • two (2) years of previous experience in a purchasing or supply planning role, dealing with international trade and overseas suppliers
  • advanced Excel skills - to perform analysis - essential
  • have experience using MRP ordering systems and reporting from ERP systems
  • strong sense of urgency and can-do attitude

Based out of Cavan, this exciting opportunity is for a 5 day, full time position, which may include occasional Saturday work. You will be working alongside the Supply Chain Manager and a team of four.
