Warehouse Supervisor

This is a hands-on role, which will primarily include supervising the parts warehouse and being in charge of inventory, which includes over 15,000 individual items.

The Job and Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe working environment, adhering to WHS procedures and ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times.
  • Able to lead, motivate and energise the warehouse team.
  • Inventory management, using cycle counts, variation counting and yearly stock takes. Able to manage and lead in these roles.
  • Achieving high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in all facets of the warehouse operations
  • Identify errors and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures. Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues
  • Allocating personnel to fluctuating workloads
  • Supervising day-to-day operations in a warehouse
  • Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of warehouse activities and employees performance
  • Preparing shipping documentation and other related paperwork
  • Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods 
  • Supervising forklift, container and pallet jack operations are performed in a safe manner.
  • Supervise and control order picking, goods in, goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimum handling and stock damage 
  • Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements
  • Responsible for driving Standard Work and ensuring quality processes are implemented to ensure a "Right First Time" product to the customer aligned with their expectation
  • Deliver the product to the customer, internal & external on time, every time using appropriate methods
  • Lead follow up and resolve Customer concerns
  • Deliver efficiencies to support year on year operational budget reduction

People Management 

  • Build team philosophy and cultivate a team atmosphere by working with the team to achieve the company's targets and objectives 
  • Strong communication ability with employees and customers.
  • Maintain & build “think safety” culture 
  • Maintain training matrix and ensure employees are adequately trained and competent within their role to ensure employee safety & operational flexibility 
  • Coach the team daily in order that a common goal is focused upon and those business objectives are met consistently 
  • Planning, managing and adjusting staffing levels to meet daily operational requirements within the warehouse
  • Drive Company Absence Control Procedures to ensure maximum attendance levels. Administer holidays, sickness and timekeeping effectively 
  • Deal with all personnel issues in line with Company Policy 

About you:

  • Proven work experience as a warehouse supervisor
  • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques
  • Experience with international freight, inwards & outwards would be an advantage.
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
  • Strong ERP/MRP understanding. Dynamics AX experience preferable.
  • Current forklift license would be an advantage
  • Good driving record and a clean criminal history check
  • Enjoy and being able to perform in a demanding customer service environment
  • High process discipline
  • Strong understanding/history of Inventory Control
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Being punctual, reliable and organised
  • Actively committed to team development
  • High levels of motivation and action orientated Skills and Attributes: 
  • Possess the ability to lead and motivate a team of people to succeed by utilising appropriate interpersonal styles including leading by example, setting objectives and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality
  • Able to achieve results by setting high standards and committing to clear objectives
  • Computer literate with good numeric skills 

Qualifications and Experience Levels: 

  • National Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience of operating in a supervisory capacity within a fast paced, highly pressurised warehouse and distribution environment
  • Good IT systems knowledge 

Based out of Cavan, S.A. this exciting opportunity is for a 5 day, full time position, which may include occasional Saturday work. You will be working alongside the Supply Chain Manager and a team of four.
